A transmitter has a power output of 10W at a carrier frequency of 250MHz. It is connected by a 10m of transmission line having a loss of 3dB/100m to an antenna with a gain of 8dB. The receiving antenna is 30 km away and has a gain of 4dB. There is negligible loss in the receiver’s feedline, but the receiver is mismatched; the antenna and the line are designed for a 5002 impedance and the receiver input impedance is 800. Calculate the power delivered to the receiver assuming free-space propagation.
